So today I worked on mapping an alternate version of the game world that appears when the main character takes a pill in their inventory.
I also worked on creating immersion by creating points of light all over the mansion, and by implementing some creepy music
They say first impressions are the most important so the game begins with a video I created, some real life footage of one of the kids who was victimized in this real life story, and an in-game cutscene I created by panning a map across a city with different colored lighting events to represent headlights, brake lights and passing signs. On the tileset editor it looks pretty lackluster but in game it looks pretty awesome. See the before and after here:
